right away

Last two weeks ago, I was asked to model for a.... I know this will sound funny but I just have to share it with you guys, it's for a... Malunggay oil capsule. yeap, Malunggay or Moringa Oleifera as scientific name for this plant. So anyway, It was so sudden that I couldn't say no. Well this is what happened my boss(our head professor) called me and without my permission first, introduced me to the company owner of this Malunggay thing. This is how my boss introduced me: "Ms.Kat, this is Anna, a college teacher in this school and she'll be the one to model for your product." aaand. I'm like at the back of my mind, huh? what product? what modelling? but of course I didn't want to embarrass my boss in front of her, so instead I just smiled and said "ah yes. hello po." Then she explained to me what to do and what to bring and I got even more surprised when she said that it'll be on the next day. what the! I know I may sound that this is something big, but my concern is, I really don't want to do this and knowing that It'll be tomorrow means no more backing out.

After the company owner left, I felt really like what just happened? I asked my boss and again I just can't get mad at him. He explained to me that he totally forgot it about and told me not to worry because I can do it. My friends/co-teachers were teasing me, and I felt really ashamed. lol! The moment I arrived home, I went straight to my wardrobe to look for something decent I could wear for the next day. The owner said, wear something casual that fits for a teacher/professor look. I tried on some of my usual business outfit, but then I thought it's too ordinary or yet it's because of the thought that it's not new. hahaha. I felt like I should buy something, but I was too tired to go to the mall. I asked my friends if they could accompany me on the next morning, since we will still have time because the photoshoot will start at 1pm, and thank God they said yes. My friends were teasing me the whole time we were at the mall, saying, "Ano kami P.A. mo? sige na nga, basta balato ha." It was fun but we were really in hurry.

So we came up with this look:

What we bought: Blazers from The Ramp, P899; inner hot pink top from Rico Salandanan, P199

My vintage bike necklace; Black jeggings; and Black sandals from Chelsea.

what do you think?

tooo bad I accidentally deleted all the photos during the shoot. :(( but anyways, what's important is I had fun. :))

below is the photo of the product:

This ain't me. This is my mind talking.

This would be just a random post.

Randombecause I don't have any idea what to say, and with that, it will obviouslylead me to different things, no single topic just letting my mind flow as Itype on the keyboard of my laptop. Basically, I'm just bored, so let's seewhere this boredom would take me.

Okay, why don't Ijust arrange my things; I've been wanting to do that since last week, only thatI'm too lazy. want to know why? It is because I don't know where to start, andI'm too lazy to think about it.

Let me open my fb,and see what's new to the people I know, so 3 days ago was my cousin's firstbirthday, and the pictures clearly tell that they really had fun. She isn’tjust an ordinary baby but a precious one. In fact, her nickname is Precious. It's a long story but believe me, She made everyone really happy. My daughterjust loves her.

So lately, I’ve been struggling with my new eating disorder. Yes,I consider it as a disorder. Actually it’s not new, because I have this sincetime immemorial only that this time it’s becoming worse. The more I want to controlmy diet and not to think about food, the more I want to eat. Does anyone relateto that? Seriously, in my whole life I never tried any kind of diet. I hope Icould start by eating healthy foods. I don’t eat vegetables. I always eat junkfoods. See how unhealthy kind of person I am?  Tsk. Tsk.

My daughter is presently complaining about her neck, and I am nowworried. I am the kind of mommy who wants to have my kids checked by a doctoras soon as possible. So I would definitely schedule her for a check-up tomorrow. For now, I'll call and ask my uncle who is a doctor. It’s always nice tohave a doctor in the family. I am always grateful to him. I remember when I wasa kid I wanted to be a doctor, A dermatologist to be specific. Only I realizedthat I can’t handle all those bloods, sickness, wounds, and etc. It scaresthe hell out of me.

So I guess, This has to stop, because I have a pretty lovely daughter to attend to. I hope she'll be fine. In Shaa Allah.

Bye! :)

P.S.
This was fun, I should probably do this random thingy more often. You should try too. :)

I Heart Paintings

Hello. Wonder why sudden interest aboutpaintings? I know I haven't blogged about my newest venture in life, no it'snot about me trying to be a painter(I wish I have that talent though) It isabout me being a college teacher, yes I am, and the subject I am teaching isHumanities. I hope you’ve read about my blog a month ago about my problem if Ishould accept the teaching job offer. So, I guess the answer is obvious now andthank God I made the right decision. At this moment I am actually making my PowerPointpresentation for my next lecture, which is actually tomorrow, (I hope none of my students will read this.haha!) and the topic is about painting. Despite the fact that I’mreally really short of time, I still can’t help but take a little of what’s left to blogabout these wonderful paintings I am about to show you.

Have fun! :)

Super Sale Bazaar

Hi! Last week, I went to World Trade Center to check out the bazaar. I called my sister to meet me since her office is just a few blocks away from WTC. In case you don't know I'm a sucker for bazaars,or anything that is on sale.

before I show you the stuff that I bought, here's my OOTH first:

Black blouse from Landmark; Pants from The Ramp

Necklace from Kultura, animal print bag from a boutique

love this shoes from Chelsea.

meet my sister, Ate Lieb.

so here's a mini haul, "mini" because I only bought a few things:

NYX lipsticks @140 each

shades(L-R): hope, B52, and power

swatches(top-bottom) hope, B52, and power

I like NYX round lipstick, not only because it's cheap, but also it's very pigmented and that it gives you a creamy not too glossy finish. I love the shade B52 because it appears to be nude or neutral which is great for everyday use. NYX round lipsticks have 144 shades to choose from, so I would definitely buy more. :)

A mustard sleeveless blouse P350

another blouse in peach color P280

After that we went to Mall of Asia, where we had our dinner at the sizzling company.

that's it! :)

I'm back and I got an award

I just want to say thank you to dazzler for giving me an award. It feels so great to have an award after not opening my blog for quite a long time. I've been so busy these past few weeks and I feel so guilty for not being able to post. so anyway, let's get down to the rules.

Lace, Pearls, and Animal Print

It's been a long time since I updated my chictopia. I don't know I just don't feel like posing in front of the camera these days, since I fell in love in taking pictures of any human interest, my surroundings, or in short photography, that I forgot to have a photo of myself taken. And just this afternoon I was reminded about updating my chictopia.

so here, finally, I had a new photo of me taken. In this outfit, I mixed some of my favorite items in the fashion world - lace, pearls, and animal print.

Cheapy Shoesy

Don't mind the title, just playing with words and I think it does sound funny, doesn't it?  so, hey recently I bought my two definitely the cheapest but nice shoes I ever had. They're cheap because I bought them in Baclaran, despite the horrible MRT experience I had (check it here.) when we went there, I am still happy for the things I bought. It's definitely worth it. haha!

 php 180

look it's denim. php 250

Since I bought them in Baclaran, I wouldn't expect much of the quality. I would probably wear these when I go out that doesn't require much walking. e.g. watch a movie or have merienda. How I wish I could post outfit photos wearing these shoes. Maybe next time! :)

Anyway, Did you know that you could even buy them at lesser price, that is if you buy them in wholesale. Meaning you have to buy at least six pcs. of the same style and color. sayang! pwede na sana if different style and color. But a very good deal for those who have a business. Now, that made me think if I should have one? hhhmmmm.

Dance Like A Ballerina

Tutu is a skirt worn as a costume in a ballet performance, often with attached bodice. But nowadays tutu can be worn as an everyday item and on special occasions. For me, I find tutu really gorgeous and cute.

So here I want to show you the tutu that I made for my daughter. It's actually a "no sew tutu,"  the moment I saw it on youtube, I thought it looks pretty interesting. The fact that it doesn't need sewing, I decided to make one for my daughter.

I chose the colors Pink, Blue, and White.

She loves it. She asked me if she looks more like a fairy or ballerina.

Here's the youtube vid where I got the idea from, In case you might want to make one. I swear it's pretty simple and fun.

Oh by the way, I already got a new camera, remember how pissed I was when my smartphone got stolen and and at the same time my digicam got broken too? so now, a one big YAY! for me. It's a Nikon D3100 and so far, I'm lovin it. I hope it will stay with me for a long time. :) cam, please stay with me,okay?

My sab taking a photo of herself. cool! :)

My MRT experience

The other day my sisters-in-law and I went to Baclaran, my second time to go there, the first was like years ago. We decided to go early in the morning around 6 am so that it wouldn't be that hot, unlike during the afternoons. It was Monday, and my first time to ride on a MRT that early. At first I was quite excited because it would be like an adventure for us, since we were all new to buying wholesale stuff at Baclaran. Well my sister-in-law by the way, will open a shop that's why we went there to look for something she could sell. sounds exciting right? and me on a motive of hitching some blouses to add on her business stuff and pay for the wholesale price. great!

Anyway, I'm not here to talk about what happened to us in Baclaran but I'm here to talk about what happened before we arrived Baclaran. The excitement totally dropped zero when we arrived the MRT North station. It was jam-packed with people. The lines are sooo damn long. I got really disappointed because MRT, I thought is a convenient mode of transportation. I felt really bad especially for the people who ride the train everyday like the students who go to school, and the workers who go to the office, and etc. I thought it would really take so much of their time and energy. My experience wasn't only physically stressful but also mentally.

Stressful because of some reasons which I personally observed/experienced during the entire trip:

1. People were pushing one another during the train stop just to get ahead of others, as in pushing that would literally hurt you.
2. And since people were pushing one another, some got really mad like the lady I heard shouting "wala na, hindi na kasya." and another lady, "ano ba, huwag mo ko itulak."
3. Once I got into the train, I felt we were packed like in a can of sardines. It was seriously full and crowded.
4. During the train stop people were rushing to go out of the train, at the same time others wanted to get in. the result? funny squeezed faces esp. the people who were in the middle of those two opposing bodies. sigh. wrong, not funny at all.
5.  A girl sitting right in front of a pregnant woman. (seriously? what are you? please be considerate naman.)
6. I heard some music coming from the two ladies on my left and the other one at my back whom were listening to pop and rock music through their headsets respectively. That's how loud their music or maybe that's how siksikan we were.
7.  I saw lesbian lovers doing PDA. sorry, but I don't think it's appropriate and comfortable for other people to see, including me! or is it just me?
8. It was hard standing that long, I got to sit like we were already at Ayala station. I'm the kind of person who would rather walk than stand for a long time.

So to all the workers and students who ride the MRT everyday, I salute you! you guys are really inspiring because you are all willing to make that sacrifice just to finish school or to make money for living.

To the government, please act for a quick solution for that.

And to all the MRT riders, can you just please learn how to follow basic and simple rules.

*too bad I wasn't able to take photos of it. :(

Composer at the Age of Four

At the age of 4, my baby girl can now compose songs.

she has two versions, one for the morning and one for the evening, both of which sounded like the song twinkle twinkle little star.

morning song:

Baby baby, wake up now.
Go downstairs and eat your food.
and go to the bathroom and take a bath.
brush your teeth and put on some clothes.
that's what we do in the morning.

evening song:

Baby baby, go to sleep.
close your eyes and zip your mouth.
insert your t-shirt and pray to God.
say I love you to mommy and daddy and to baby brother too.
that's what we do in the night.

cute and funny, isn't she? so proud of her.

love you baby. :)

What is your favorite color?

When people ask me what is my favorite color, I pause. I pause precisely because I don't know what my favorite is. I'm not a person that has a particular favorite especially when it comes to color. well, except from what my family is insisting me that when I was a kid, yellow was my favorite color which honestly, I don't even remember. But okay for the sake of peace and quiet, I accepted it.  I mean it's not that I don't like colors in fact the reason why I don't know it is because they're all great. I love all of them. How can you not love them?  I know a lot of people who have one particular favorite for the most of their lives, and I think it's amazing.

Anywhoo, The only thing I could answer is that I have a choice and it changes from time to time, like a flavor of the month. And right now I'm eyeing the color Marigold. I like it because it is not that loud as a neon yellow/orange and that it has a touch of pastel.

Isn't it nice? Do you think this could be my favorite color? If I pass a year or so with this still as my choice, I'll consider it as my first ever fave(well okay, second considering the yellow from childhood, hehe) and I'll let you guys know. :)

xoxo!
